The Jewish Heritage Society is an independent scholarly
institution for the development and coordination of research in
history and culture of the Jewish people in the Russian Empire
and the USSR, and documenting the Jewish historical legacy.
The Society's interests embrace a wide range of academic scholarship
in the field of Jewish studies including history, sociology, ethnography,
source studies, booklore, etc.
The Society's activities are aimed at support and cooperation
with scholars, research and educational institutions concentrating
in Jewish studies, libraries and archives of Judaica. The JHS
is operating in the following directions:
- research projects devoted to scholarly exploration of the
Jewish past in the Russian Empire and the USSR;
- reviewing works by leading experts in Jewish studies;
