The Institute of Judaica in Kiev is an independent institution for the development and coordination of scholarly activities in the field of Jewish history and culture in Ukraine. (The Institute having acted as the Research Center of the Association "Judaica" of Ukraine before 1996).

The major projects of the Institute comprise:

Starting from 1992 and in cooperation with the Israeli academic institutions the Institute has organized five International conferences on Jewish studies in Kiev.

The publication activities of the Institute include proceedings of the annual scholarly conferences "Jewish History and Culture in Ukraine" (with four books already published) and literary annual "Egupets" as well as a number of large scale publications.

Currently the Institute is preparing following publications:

The Institute has participated in editing and publishing of the proceedings of the 1993 conference on Ukrainian-Jewish relations in Jerusalem published in Ukrainian and Russian (in monthly "Philosophical and Sociological Thought". No. 1 - 2, 5 - 6. Kiev, 1994) as well as in English (in the fifth volume of the "Jews and Slavs" series together with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem).

Dr. Leonid Finberg is the director of the Institute.
