In this paper, the author suggests the existence of a unique order of synagogue arts objects. She is basing her conclusions on the mosaics of the 6th C. synagogue of Beth-Alpha in Galilee. This art is replete with reminiscences of the Temple and its Sacrifice.

Artyom Fedortchuk "Hellenic" and "Judaic" in K. Cavafy's Poetry.

The poetic world created by the Greek poet K. Cavafy contains a wide panorama of the Hellenistic and post-Hellenistic Middle East. The Jewish component of that cultural and historical milieu had also been reflected in his poetry. Based on som verses by Cavafy (and also on the figure of the poet himself), the author tries to address the question of interaction between "Hellenic" and "Judaic".

Alexander Vasilyev Shasu in Egyptian sources and the Early History of Israel.

The author suggests that the Egyptian name shasu is an ethnic rather than social term, and that it could be the name for the national group known to the Israelites as Amalecites. The suggestion is supported by the late Arabic tradition.

Alexander Zanemonets "Hionios' Case": Some Notes on the History of Byzantine Judaisers.

The author tries to find out the real origin of "hiones" — a 14th C. syncretic sect of Asia Minor. All former versions of etymology of the name are too complicated. The case of Hionios — a judaiser from Thessalonica — allows us to propose that h was the founder of the sect and gave his name to it.
