Welcome to the

Jewish Heritage Foundation

 - a non-profit organization supporting research and preservation of Jewish culture

  • Preserve Jewish historic artefacts related to architecture, spiritual life, written and oral history, folklore, music and other manifestations of Jewish heritage in Europe and Asia.
  • Promote Jewish culture by supporting educational programs and providing public access to various objects of Jewish heritage exhibited in museums.
  • Facilitate communication among a growing network of individuals, institutions, Jewish communities, state organizations, monuments protection authorities and other interested parties.

After decades of wars, genocide and oppression witnessed by the twentieth century, a lot of Jewish communities declined and their cultural heritage was considered lost. Many historical and cultural artefacts have nonetheless survived the catastrophe being kept in numerous state museums and archives, as well as in some communities and private collections, waiting for a new generation of scholars to make them widely accessible. The Jewish Heritage Foundation sees its goal in collecting, researching and publishing sources of Jewish history, and considers it to be a task of paramount importance.
